Apple stock: From $6.56 to $403 in about 8 years
The shares closed the regular session at $376.18 on Wednesday, up $2.58, before Jobs’ announcement. The price fell 5.3% to about $356 in after-hours trading.
The stock hit a record high of $403.41 on July 26, before it began to slump amid the market’s broad sell-off.
The company’s stock market value was $348 billion at the close of regular trading Wednesday. Earlier this month Apple briefly topped Exxon Mobil as the most valuable U.S. company by stock market value, but Exxon now is back on top, at $357 billion.
Louis Vuitton Damier Infini
To misquote the Duchess of Windsor, you can't be too rich, too thin or have too many weekend bags. But if you were told you could only own one holdall, there is a fair chance you would be tempted to invest in something by Louis Vuitton. Its latest luggage line for men is one of the most desirable for years and, in true Vuitton style, is an evolution rather than a revolution. The Damier Infini is made in super-soft calfskin printed with the classic Vuitton signature check (damier is the French term for chequerboard) and is available in either black, white or red. The interiors are reinforced and bonded so the bags will keep their shape and the range also includes briefcases and document holders, so can go from pleasure to business with ease.

'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' Husband Found Dead
A businessman featured on the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" was found dead at a Mulholland Drive home Monday night.
L.A. fire officials were called to the residence in the 14300 block of Mulholland Drive after 8 p.m., where venture capitalist Russell Armstrong's body was found.
A source familiar with the case told The Times that no foul play is suspected and that investigators believe Armstrong took his own life.
When the show began, Armstrong was married to Taylor Armstrong, a Kansas native who was one of the stars. They recently separated.

Jay-Z And Kanye West's 'Watch the Throne': First Listen
Those on the West Coast who care about hip-hop are waking up Monday to a new reality, one in which the two most acclaimed rappers of the past two decades -- Jay-Z and Kanye West -- have finally released their much anticipated collaboration, "Watch the Throne," as a duo called the Throne. The Times will have a full review up in few hours; it's a record that needs time and space to actually absorb and I'm still on my first cup of coffee. But for now, after hearing the album its entirety once, a few tidbits:
Producers on the record include West, the Neptunes(!), Mike Dean, the RZA of Wu-Tang Clan, the Jugganauts, Swizz Beats, Q-Tip (in collaboration with West) and others. Samples? Some fantastic ones, including the already classic snippet from Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" and tidbits from French dance-rock group Cassius, '70s rock group Spooky Tooth, the foundational "Apache" break by the Incredible Bongo Band, a host of James Brown sounds that take the Godfather's voice and beats to terrains heretofore untraveled. Oh, and a great dialog track from the Will Ferrell vehicle "Blades of Glory."
Stocks Suffer Sharpest Drop Since 2008
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 634 points, or 5.6 percent, and the Standard & Poor’s 500- stock index dropped 6.7 percent, the biggest retreats since December 2008 in the midst of the financial crisis, accelerating a sell-off that began a couple of weeks ago. The S.& P. 500 is now down 18 percent from its April 29 peak and is nearing official bear market territory, defined as a fall of 20 percent.
